Community Lunch offers a wonderful opportunity for students, staff, and faculty to come together for lunch. Our first Community Lunch will be held on Wednesday, September 10th at 12:30 p.m. There will be a catered lunch will be provided!

A catered lunch is provided on the first Wednesday of each month, unless otherwise noted.

 

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation acknowledges the heartbreaking legacy of residential schools, the missing children, the families left behind, and the survivors of these institutions. To honour this significant day, Knox College will host a variety of events this week and next week. Additionally, we have listed some other activities hosted by the University of Toronto. Below is a complete list of activities.

University of Toronto’s Orange Shirt Day and National Day for Truth & Reconciliation Commemoration

10:00 AM – 11:30 AM

All members of the Knox College Community are invited to participate online in The University of Toronto’s Orange Shirt Day and National Day for Truth & Reconciliation Commemoration . Honour the experiences of residential school survivors at a University-wide event to commemorate the day. The commemoration will feature Carey Newman, whose traditional name is Hayalthkin’geme. Newman is a multi-disciplinary artist, carver, filmmaker, author and public speaker.

For the Knox community, the month of October will be a time to support each other and bear witness to how strong a community we are! It also signals Knox College’s commitment to holistic development, integrating physical well-being with spiritual and communal enrichment.

Participants are invited to choose their preferred activity and set personal fundraising goals! This flexibility allows everyone to engage at their own pace and contribute meaningfully to the cause.

In the midst of an awareness of growing diversity and declining church attendance, many congregations are considering shifting their worship and formation practices to better include people of all ages. Intergenerational ministry is more than just putting people of different generations in the same room. It is a call to reimagine the practices by which faith communities engage in worship and become formed as disciples of Jesus. In this webinar, we will consider theories and practices that help congregations bring the generations together, focusing especially on how leaders can implement gradual changes as they experiment with all-age ministry.
