Knox College is located at the heart of the University of Toronto’s St. George Campus. There are three Residence Dons, usually graduate students. The Don duty schedule is posted in the residence. A Don is on duty from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
Yes, residence rooms are cleaned once a week.
The Knox College Residence is divided into three houses (West, Centre, and East). Washrooms are shared. Each house has a different number of students, so the ratio of students per washroom varies from 6 to 11. The floors and washrooms in each house are gender specific, except for East House 3rd floor, where both the floor and washroom are coed. Learn more about the Residence.
No. The front doors lock at 10 p.m., but each resident receives a key to the front door for access.

Yes, Knox College provides all bedding, although students may bring their own if they so choose. Due to Health and Safety regulations, residents may not bring their own bed or upholstered furniture.
Yes. All residents participate in the Carte Blanche Meal Plan with 10 guest passes/term. Continental breakfast is served in the Knox College Dining Hall Monday to Friday. The remaining meals are offered at New College (a 5-minute walk).
Knox College gives residence preference to its theological students, those who are Presbyterian, U of T graduate students, and second-entry professional faculties. Learn more about the Residence.
Wireless internet access (UTORwin or UofT wireless network) is available in the residence to current U of T students with a valid UTORid and password.
The rooms are wired for internet and cable, but residents are responsible to make arrangements for those services through a provider.
Residents may invite guests to their rooms. These guests are subject to all residence rules. Overnight guests are permitted for only two consecutive nights, at a cost of $10/night. Additional nights require approval from the Residence Office.
Most rooms are single. There are two female double rooms, and one female and one male “super single” rooms. Learn more about the Residence.
The Knox College Chapel is available for some weddings; the bride and groom need not be members of a church or denomination. However, the officiant must have membership in the Canadian Council of Churches, and the ceremony must be Christian. Each wedding rental request is subject to approval upon application. If you are interested in taking photographs (whether proposal, engagement, wedding, anniversary, or family) at Knox College, please make a tentative booking with Knox to hold the date/time. Then, within three months of the intended photography date, contact Knox to purchase a photography permit. Permits cost $400 (including tax) per two-hour time block. Please note that Knox will not issue a photography permit to you if there is a wedding scheduled during the same two-hour time block you have tentatively booked. Knox’s classrooms, Dining Hall, boardroom, rotunda, cloisters, courtyard, and KNOXFRA room may all be rented if there is no conflict with a scheduled Knox College event. Please find images here, or contact the Assistant to the Manager of Facilities.
