Knox College’s Thrive Campaign Raises Nearly $9.5 Million to Support Congregations and Mental Health Healing Across Canada
Toronto, ON – Knox College is celebrating the remarkable conclusion of its Thrive Campaign, which raised nearly $9.5 million—more than triple its original $3.1 million goal. Launched in 2019, the campaign set out to strengthen congregational vitality and expand spiritual and mental health care across Canada. Its success marks one of the most transformative moments in Knox’s history.
“The Thrive campaign has never been about dollars. It has been about disciples. It has always been about preparing the church for its calling in this new world. It has always been about forming leaders who will touch lives, heal hearts, proclaim the gospel, and build communities that radiate the love of Christ.” Ernest Van Eck, Principal of Knox College
Notable Campaign Milestones:
- More than 600 gifts from 400 donors made this success possible.
- Knox College received the largest Planned Gift in its history. This contribution helps secure the College’s ability to sustain its mission for generations.
- Three faculty chairs have been endowed
- Two centres – The Centre for Lifelong Learning & Knox Counselling Centre were created
The Thrive Campaign has already begun to shape Knox’s future in profound ways, including:
- Future leaders formed: Through the expansion of the Master of Psychospiritual Studies degree will prepare students to serve in diverse ministry and healing professions.
- Knox Counselling Centre established: Offering experiential learning through student internships and supervised clinical pastoral education.
- Centre for Lifelong Learning founded: Churches are being meaningfully supported to help them thrive in a rapidly changing world.
- Faculty support: A focus on faculty was a key piece of the Thrive Campaign, ensuring long-term academic strength and leadership at Knox College.
A Celebration of Gratitude
The Thrive campaign’s conclusion was marked with over 50 people in attendance at a Celebration Service in the Knox College Chapel. The December 2, 2025, service was livestreamed and recorded for the wider community and offered praise and thanksgiving for what God has accomplished through the generosity of Knox’s supporters.
