KNOX COLLEGE SEEKS NEW PRINCIPAL
Reporting to the Board of Governors, The Principal at Knox College is the Chief Executive, Senior Academic Officer and Spiritual Leader of the College. The role of the Principal is to provide theological, academic, pastoral, and institutional leadership to the College, with a view to creating a community grounded in faith, scholarship, Christian ministry formation and practice. The Principal is to provide effective stewardship of the human and financial resources and assets of the College.
The incumbent has primary responsibility for oversight of the Knox College community including the theological student body and those students of the University of Toronto in residence. The Principal is the Chair of the Knox faculty and the liaison with the TST. The Principal of Knox College is a Christian leader, scholar, and an ordained minister of Word and Sacraments in the PCC or is willing to become such.
As the ideal candidate, you possess a doctorate or equivalent in a theological discipline; a background in university or seminary teaching, scholarship, and administration; a record of achievement, ideally in both pastoral ministry and higher education; a demonstrated understanding of the history, ethos, governance, traditions, and polity of the PCC; and a demonstrated ability for ecumenical co-operation among churches and theological schools. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability for educational leadership, and experience working positively and inclusively.
