Margaret (Margie) MacLeod passes away; Knox College expresses condolences
Margaret (Margie) MacLeod passed away December 4, 2023. She was a 1973 Ewart Graduate and 2000 Master of Divinity graduate of Knox College.

It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the death of Margaret Alice “Margie” MacLeod on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at her residence.
Born March 16, 1951, in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late John Angus and Alice (Ferguson) MacLeod.
Margie began her career after graduating in 1973 from Ewart College in Toronto and as a Registered Nurse from New Aberdeen Hospital in 1980. She was a designated member of the Order of Diaconal Ministries as of February 14, 1974. She worked at the Grace Maternity Hospital in Halifax and then, McMaster University in Hamilton from which she retired. In 2000, Margie also received her Master of Divinity from Knox College in Toronto. She loved to travel and had visited many countries of the world.
Margie is survived by her sister, Barbara J. Wedsworth, Coldbrook; brother, Philip (Donna Lee) MacLeod, Sydney; two nieces, Laura (Dan) Corkum, Grande Prairie and Barbara L. Wedsworth, Coldbrook; two nephews, Matthew (Melissa) MacLeod, Sydney and Graham (Laura) MacLeod, Hammonds Plains; 12 grandnieces and nephews; four great-grandnieces and nephews; aunts, Edna Taker, Marjorie Kerr and Theresa Ferguson; and many close cousins and friends.
Besides her parents, Margie was predeceased by her nephew, John Wedsworth and brother-in-law, Jim Wedsworth.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Sydney Memorial Chapel. Funeral service and burial will be announced at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Camp Geddie, Merigomish.
