Dr. Lindsay A. Belch to receive KNOXFRA Award of Honour
The Knox Former Residents’ Association is pleased to announce Dr. Lindsay A. Belch as this year’s KNOXFRA Award of Honour recipient. Dr. Belch has been deeply committed to Knox for many years. He lived in the Knox Residence from 1949 through 1951, and he generously served on the KNOXFRA Executive Committee for 15 years. He has been integral to welcoming new residents and getting them involved in College life; generations of students have felt his impact. The KNOXFRA Committee and Knox Community are grateful for his dedicated, dignified leadership.
“Knox College was a rewarding experience and one treasured all my life,” said Dr. Belch. He grew up in rural Ontario and became an obstetrician and gynecologist with a 56-year career in medicine. His long and distinguished career as a physician included 15 years as Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at North York General Hospital. He has been a farmer, student, obstetrician and gynecologist, father, administrator, and counselor.
Lindsay and Ruth have been married for 63 years. They are lifelong members of The Presbyterian Church in Canada and supporters of Knox College.
