Knox College Congratulates Professor Melanie Woodin on Her Election as the 17th President of the University of Toronto
Knox College, a founding member of the Toronto School of Theology, congratulates Professor Melanie Woodin on her appointment as the 17th President of the University of Toronto. An internationally recognized neuroscientist and dedicated academic leader, Professor Woodin will assume the role on July 1, 2025, succeeding President Meric Gertler.
Professor Woodin’s distinguished career in research, teaching, and academic leadership—most recently as Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Science—demonstrates a deep commitment to excellence, innovation, and the advancement of knowledge. Her leadership will undoubtedly shape the future of the university, fostering its reputation as a global centre of learning and discovery.
