Judee Archer Green passes away; Knox College expresses condolences
The following obituary appears on the website for the Hamilton Spectator:
At Hamilton General Hospital, surrounded by prayer and hymns, with members of her church family by her side, Judee died peacefully after suffering a stroke. The only child of the late Donald and Dorothy Archer of Toronto, she was predeceased by her husband George Green (2015). Judee was educated for Christian Ministry at Knox College, Toronto, where she was active in choral groups. Judee was ordained in 1977, and served congregations at Knox Presbyterian Church, Port Dover, and St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Hamilton. She later served the Presbyterian Church in Canada as an Associate Secretary in the Life and Mission Agency and in that period had leadership roles in task forces compiling a new Book of Psalms for worship use (1995), and the Book of Praise (1997), and introducing them to congregations across Canada. She served faithfully in many capacities in The Hamilton Presbytery, for several years as its Clerk. As Minister in Association at St Cuthbert’s she sang in the choir, often ministered in Word and Sacrament, introduced the congregation to Taize worship, and faithfully took on many tasks in support of weekly services. Her love of music extended to attending The Hymn Society annual conferences, which kept her in touch with musical colleagues and brought her much joy every year.
