Judee Archer Green passes away; Knox College expresses condolences
Judee Archer Green passed away October 6, 2023. She was a 1977 Master of Divinity graduate of Knox College.

At Hamilton General Hospital, surrounded by prayer and hymns, with members of her church family by her side, Judee died peacefully after suffering a stroke. The only child of the late Donald and Dorothy Archer of Toronto, she was predeceased by her husband George Green (2015). Judee was educated for Christian Ministry at Knox College, Toronto, where she was active in choral groups. Judee was ordained in 1977, and served congregations at Knox Presbyterian Church, Port Dover, and St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Hamilton. She later served the Presbyterian Church in Canada as an Associate Secretary in the Life and Mission Agency and in that period had leadership roles in task forces compiling a new Book of Psalms for worship use (1995), and the Book of Praise (1997), and introducing them to congregations across Canada. She served faithfully in many capacities in The Hamilton Presbytery, for several years as its Clerk. As Minister in Association at St Cuthbert’s she sang in the choir, often ministered in Word and Sacrament, introduced the congregation to Taize worship, and faithfully took on many tasks in support of weekly services. Her love of music extended to attending The Hymn Society annual conferences, which kept her in touch with musical colleagues and brought her much joy every year.
A funeral service was held on Monday Oct 16 at 11 am at St Cuthbert’s Presbyterian Church, Hamilton. Interment in the Archer family plot at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church cemetery, Ancaster. Funeral arrangements have been made through Dodsworth and Brown, Ancaster.
