Jean Louise (Hazelwood) Jarvis passes away; Knox College expresses condolences
Jean Louise (Hazelwood) Jarvis passed away January 8, 2025. She was a 1956 Master of Divinity graduate of Knox College.

It is with great sadness that we the family of Jean Louise (Hazelwood) Jarvis, wish to announce the death of our much-loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, with loving family by her side at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, on January 8, 2025, in her 91st year. Jean was predeceased by her much-loved husband, Rev. Wilfred “Biff” Douglas Jarvis (December 1, 2014). Over their many wonderful years of marriage they together raised a beautiful family and lived out their faith through constant volunteering and dedication to their church and the community. Jean and Biff were longtime and faithful members of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Tillsonburg. Jean was a dedicated Support Worker for several years with Community Living Tillsonburg. She was also an avid volunteer who sat on several committees which looked at the needs of seniors in our community. She will be greatly missed by anyone who knew her. Always a caring and dedicated mother to: James (May) Jarvis, of London and their children Brenda, Amy and Robert; Marie (Leon Roelens), of RR1 Walsingham and their children Justin, Meghan, and Sam; Gordon (Michele) Jarvis, of Tillsonburg; Joanne Mabee, of Tillsonburg and her daughter Morgan; predeceased by her son Stephen H. Jarvis (January 10, 2020), survived by his children Stephanie and Andy. Always a proud and loving great-grandmother to her 14 great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Tyler, Colby, Emmett, Madelyn, Asher, Hudson, Emily, Declan, Alyson, Liam, Julia, Hazel, and Grady.
In keeping with Jean’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends, relatives and neighbours are invited to attend public visitation on Friday, January 24th, 2025, between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon (service time) in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (46 Brock St. W., Tillsonburg). A Memorial Service will be held on Friday at noon, led by Pastor Paul Robinson. All funeral attendees are invited to attend a reception and Celebration of Life at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 153 (16 Durham St, Tillsonburg), immediately following the memorial service. Interment will be held later in Windham Centre Cemetery.
