Eleanor Nicol passes away; Knox College expresses condolences
Knox College is sad to announce that Eleanor Nicol passed away on April 2. She served Knox College for many years as Assistant to the Principal. She was married to the late Iain Nicol, Professor of Theology at Knox College.
Eleanor’s obituary, as published in the Toronto Star on Apr. 7, 2021:
NICOL, Eleanor Faith (nee RAE): On April 2, 2021, Eleanor passed peacefully, in Peterborough, ON. Beloved wife of Iain Nicol (predeceased) and previously of Glenn Gordon, caring stepmother to Roy and his wife Marcela, and Juliet. Eleanor is survived by her sister, Connie (Frank), brother Bevin (Anne), a niece and nephews. With a long career at Knox College, she was active in the community devoting much of her time to the United Church Women and Royal York Road United Church. She had a love for music and singing in the choir. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 13th, at 12 p.m. at Royal York Road United Church, in line with current guidelines.
