Director of Lifelong Learning appointed
Announcement from Principal van Eck
I am pleased to announce the appointment of the Rev. John Borthwick as Director of Lifelong Learning and a member of our Senior Leadership Team at Knox College.
In this role, John will have overall responsibility for development and operation of the Lifelong Learning program at Knox College. Lifelong Learning is an exciting new program that is focused on meeting the needs of our church and will be available to ministers and lay leaders across Canada in the coming months.
John is a graduate of Knox College and brings 25 years of experience in ministry and church leadership to his new role. He has been actively involved in his community in a number of areas including service as police chaplain, and has been recognized with community leadership awards at both the federal and local levels. In 2021, John launched The Abbey – an innovative virtual ministry focused on leadership topics including mental health, conflict management, lay leadership development, and the role of leaders in congregational renewal. Many of the elements in The Abbey will be incorporated into the Lifelong Learning program at Knox College, and we look forward to John’s vision and passion in leading this new program.
John will be starting at Knox College on August 1. Please join us in welcoming him to our team.
Sincerely,
Ernest Van Eck
