Knox College Welcomes Prospective Faculty Member Rev. Dr. Eser Kim
Knox College is pleased to announce that its Search Committee has recommended the appointment of The Rev. Dr. Eser Kim as Assistant Professor of Spiritual Care and Professional Formation.Dr. Kim is an ordained Presbyterian minister and practical theologian whose work focuses on faith formation, spiritual care, and the development of professional identity in theological education. Her scholarship is shaped by intercultural experience and a commitment to integrative formation, aligning closely with the growth of the Master of Psychospiritual Studies program. She also maintains a strong and expanding research profile.
She holds a PhD in Theological Studies from Knox College/University of Toronto, along with graduate degrees from Columbia Theological Seminary and Princeton Theological Seminary. Dr. Kim brings extensive graduate-level teaching experience in human development, pastoral counseling, and psychospiritual care. She has previously served as a Teaching Assistant at Knox College and currently serves as Associate Pastor and Director of International Relations at Myungsung Presbyterian Church in Seoul, South Korea, while holding several adjunct teaching appointments.
In accordance with the Faculty Handbook, Dr. Kim will be invited to deliver a public lecture and to meet with members of the Faculty who were not part of the Search Committee, as well as with our students.
Her lecture has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 12:30 p.m., and will be open to the Knox community. Following the lecture, the recommendation will proceed through the required approval processes, including review by the Academic Committee and the Board of Governors. We are grateful to the members of the Search Committee for their careful and thorough work, and we look forward to the possibility of welcoming Dr. Kim to our community.
